Biography

The Wave MW is a Blantyre-based rap trio made up of Anxious, Kryptic, and ThxtBoyRoy. Formed in late August 2018, the group originally belonged to the record label ‘Way Too Wavy,’ which housed seven artists. They adopted the name ‘The Wave’ as a simple way to represent all seven members collectively. However, after internal differences, the trio continued carrying the name. Their debut single in 2018 received strong positive feedback, securing them a performance slot at the 2018 UMP Awards. In 2019, they shared the stage with Nasty C, AKA, Busiswa, and Prince Kaybee at the Nyasa Music Festival. Later that year, they released an 18-track compilation titled ‘Project October,’ which gained praise for its creativity, with tracks like ‘Ecstasy’ and ‘Drip Like Daddy’ receiving international TV airplay, cementing their status as one of Blantyre’s most promising music groups.
