Verniah

Verniah, born on 15 January 2000 in Blantyre, Malawi, is a Malawian singer and songwriter. She was raised in Cape Town, South Africa, and proudly identifies as a Ngoni from Ntcheu. Born into a family of three girls, she is the daughter of the late Malawian singer Teargas (Leonard Chongwe) and Jean Mlanga. Verniah’s musical journey is shaped by her cross-cultural upbringing and her artistic lineage.
